Winter Squash, Apples and Sausage

2 lb Butternut squash (make sure to get a squash that’s smooth on the outside)
1 lb Italian sausage either links or ground, browned and drained
3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, 1/2″ slices
1/2 C Brown sugar
1 T Flour
1/2 t Salt
1/4 t Cinnamon
1/8 t Nutmeg
1/4 C Butter, melted

350 degree oven. Peel squash, remove seeds, cut into 1/2″ slices. Arrange in 9×13 pan. Layer sausage on top (slice if links). Layer apple slices over top. Combine brown sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; add melted butter and mix well. Spoon over casserole. Cover tightly with foil. Bake 1 hour. Serves 4-6
